# Create and edit reservations

Open the reservation list or use Reserve on a unit in the Room Status Board.

## Create a reservation

1. Select the correct property and open a new reservation form.
2. Review Arrival, Nights and Departure. After changing one field, check the calculated values of the others.
3. Enter the reservation holder and number of guests.
4. Complete each guest's name, telephone, identity/passport and nationality fields. Gender is optional.
5. Select the correct room, apartment or bed in the rental unit field.
6. Check the nightly price and any other charge or advance-payment fields. The nightly price is not the total stay price.
7. Add information needed by the next shift to Notes.
8. Save and confirm that the reservation appears with the correct unit and dates.

Example: arrival on 15 October and departure on 18 October means three nights. Another reservation may begin at the departure time on 18 October. A guest who has not actually checked out can still block the unit, even after the planned departure.

## Why is a unit unavailable?

The dates may conflict with another booking, a reservation of a parent or child unit, or an unsuitable unit status. Reserving an entire apartment blocks its rooms for the same period. Reserving a room blocks its beds. Independently rented beds in the same room can have separate reservations.

## Edit dates

1. Open the reservation details.
2. Choose Edit reservation dates.
3. Review and save the new dates and price fields.
4. Verify the change in the calendar.

You can edit planned dates after check-in. The actual arrival time and previous unit movements remain unchanged. The new departure must be in the future and must not conflict with another booking. Use the [room-change operation](/en/daily-operations/move-and-cancel.md) to change the unit.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.interaktifotel.com/en/daily-operations/reservations.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
