# Room status and cleaning

Open the Room Status Board under Hotel Operations.

![Room Status Board](https://582852079-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FH3QewPp8q2H0UbFFNMYS%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-7cc957a5c2bb09cb38b9e86db2d46962bda5e78a%2Fboard.png?alt=media)

## Read a room card

Read the unit code, guest or reservation information and arrival/departure dates together. Occupancy and cleaning are different: a clean room may be occupied, and an empty room may still need cleaning. Read the status label instead of relying only on color.

## Find a unit

1. Confirm the selected property.
2. Adjust search, floor and date filters as needed.
3. Check the unit code on the card.
4. Open the card's action menu. On desktop, the right-click menu also provides reservation, guest, status and document actions.

When viewing another date, do not confuse that date's reservation status with the current cleaning status.

## Change cleaning status

1. Confirm the prepared room's code with the responsible staff member.
2. Open the room status control on the card.
3. Select Clean or Dirty according to the actual condition.
4. Wait for confirmation and check the updated label.

Authorized accounts also have Vacant, Out of order and Under renovation options. Before recording maintenance or a fault, check existing stays and upcoming reservations. Complete any reason or confirmation fields requested by the application.

## If check-in is blocked

The application checks cleaning, active stays and availability from the actual arrival time through the planned departure. If a dirty-room warning appears, check the exact room or bed code, refresh and verify the current status.

If the problem continues, follow the [troubleshooting steps](/en/help-and-reference/troubleshooting.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.interaktifotel.com/en/daily-operations/room-board.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
