# Room folio and services

Open Folio on a room card, or Room folio / Add service in reservation details.

The folio brings together the reservation's accommodation charges, service charges and payment movements. Read totals separately for each currency.

## Add an extra service

1. Open the correct reservation's folio.
2. Enter or select the service name and category.
3. Specify quantity, unit price and currency.
4. Add any explanation and check the total.
5. Save and confirm the service in the folio movements.

Example: two breakfasts at 150 TRY create a service charge of 300 TRY. This does not mean that 300 TRY has been received from the guest. Record payment separately.

## Correct an incorrect service charge

Use the service cancellation action and provide a reason. Check that the cancellation appears in the folio. Use this action instead of merely changing the description or adding a new service with a negative amount.

Reception staff may add services only to open reservations in properties they can access. Ask your manager if the reservation is closed or outside your access scope.

## Before check-out

Add final services and review payments and refunds. Refresh the folio if another employee has made changes. Acknowledging an outstanding balance during check-out does not erase it.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.interaktifotel.com/en/finance-and-reporting/folio.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
