# First-day setup

This page is for managers whose account and business have already been created by the technical team. If the property is already in use, inspect existing records instead of creating duplicate rooms or beds.

## Recommended setup order

1. Open the Property Profile and verify the business and property information.
2. In Floor and Room Definitions, create floors and assign rooms and apartments to them.
3. For each room, choose whether the entire room or its individual beds will be rented.
4. Define the physical beds. For a hostel, check bunk levels and the bed spaces offered separately.
5. Complete room and property amenities and inventory quantities in the relevant editing forms.
6. Review staff roles and property access in Staff Definitions.
7. Prepare business information and the required language versions of Document Templates.
8. Check current cleaning and maintenance status on the Room Status Board.

## Before the first reservation

| Check              | Expected result                                                      |

| Property and floor | The room appears under the correct property and floor. |
| Rental mode | The room or bed you intend to rent can be selected. |
| Cleaning | The unit is physically ready and marked Clean. |
| Dates | Arrival and departure are correct, with no conflicting reservation. |
| Staff | Each employee can access the required pages using their own account. |

For training, use the test environment designated by your manager so that sample transactions are not mixed with live business records.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.interaktifotel.com/en/getting-started/first-day.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
